Raleigh defensive back Christian Rorie has an offer from UNC but is still trying to learn about the program and staff.

Christian Rorie, a 3-star defensive end from Enloe High School, is one of the local prospects North Carolina has offered in the class of 2019. The 6-6, 265 pounder from Raleigh has an upcoming visit to Chapel Hill this weekend and is eager to learn more about UNC and the football program.

"I'm looking for a good feel from the coaches and for it to just feel comfortable," Rorie told THI.

Rorie hopes to build on his relationship with the coaching staff and find out where he fits in the Tar Heels’ plans going forward. The junior defensive end has been in contact with former defensive backs coach Terry Joseph, who has since left for Notre Dame.

"I hadn't spoken much to Coach Joseph on what the staff likes about me as a player,” Rorie said. But Rorie will still talk to the defensive staff to learn more about what they think about him.

The junior understands that UNC went through several woes this past season due to a rash of injuries that deleted the team. However, he hasn't let that damper his opinion on the program.

"I don't know why they’re already being downed as a good football team,” he said. “People act like they haven't been dominant in the years before. This year was simply a step back."

Rorie told THI he also has a scheduled visit coming this week to UNC’s primary rival, N.C. State.
