Justin Menard didn't view UNC's offer like many other schools, it was once his dream school.

McDonough, GA, class of 2019 wide receiver Justin Menard got some good news this week when North Carolina wide receivers coach Luke Paschall extended him a scholarship offer.

For Menard, UNC just wasn’t another school, it held a special place with the 5-11, 177 pounder.

"The wide receivers coach Luke Paschall offered me," he told THI." I was excited, because when I was in the 9th grade that was my dream school."

The Eagles' Landing Christian standout is intrigued at the opportunity that the Tar Heels present on the field and in the classroom.

"The coaches there are just like my coaching staff," he said. "They push us to be our very best on and off the field, I like that a lot. Their coaches are very easy to get along with, and I like the fact they love to pass the ball a lot to their slot receivers, which is the position I play."

So what did the staff mention they liked best about Menard?

"They liked my speed and what I was able to do with the ball in my hands," he replied.

Nearly 3 years ago, Menard found himself participating as a freshmen at a UNC day camp, and now he's sitting squarely on the Heels’ radar entering his senior year.

"I was there for a camp in my freshmen year and I ran a 4.4," he said." I'm going back for a visit this summer. When I get there I want to see the dorms, because I want to be comfortable where I'll be staying at for 3-4 years and also see the education there, UNC is high up on my recruiting list following the offer."

Aside from North Carolina, he has picked up offers from West Virginia, Missouri, Maryland, Rutgers, South Florida and Illinois among others.

Right now, he is planning to schedule trips to see Miami, Louisville, Syracuse, Illinois, Missouri along with UNC this summer.
