Sanders and Grant Sign Letters of Intent

University of North Carolina men's basketball coach Matt Doherty has signed two high school student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. The newest Tar Heels are Damion Grant, a 6-11, 265-pound center from Portland, Jamaica, and Byron Sanders, a 6-8, 225-pound forward from Gulfport, Miss.
Grant currently attends Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., and played for Coach Jason Smith. Sanders currently attends Harrison Central High School in Gulfport, where he played for Coach Ricky Stone.

In the fall signing period, Doherty signed Raymond Felton, a 6-1 point guard from Latta High School in Latta, S.C.; Sean May, a 6-9 power forward from Bloomington North High School in Bloomington, Ind.; and Rashad McCants, a 6-4 swing man from Asheville, N.C., and New Hampton Prep in New Hampshire.
"We are excited about the two young men joining our program," says Doherty. "They both add a lot to the future of Carolina Basketball. They are fine young men and good students in addition to having tremendous athletic ability."
