Three dismissed from football team

A UNC official confirmed Wednesday night that three Tar Heel football players have been dismissed for a violation of team rules---junior long snapper Mark House, third-year sophomore Anthony Parker-Boyd, and freshman linebacker Kenneth Harris.
House was UNC's starting long snapper on punts heading into the 2008 season, but a hand injury limited his playing time as the season went on. He was a walk-on and therefore he was not on scholarship.

Parker-Boyd, who was originally recruited by the John Bunting regime as a dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2006, has played at multiple positions in his Tar Heel career, including running back, wide receiver, and on special teams.
His contributions on game days were limited almost exclusively to special teams (although he had one carry for two yards in 2008), but he also was of value to the program serving as a dual-threat quarterback on the scout team in practice to prepare for certain opponents.
Harris, recruited out of Columbia High School in Decatur (Ga.) in the Class of 2008, redshirted this past fall.
