Dallaz Corbitt, a class of 2019 defensive end from Gray Collegiate Academy in Columbia, SC, took advantage of last weekend’s visit to North Carolina for the Tar Heels’ home opener versus Pittsburgh.

“The visit was good I really liked it up there,” the 6-7, 235 pounder told THI. “UNC defensive line graduate assistant Sam Dunnam is the coach who invited me, but I didn’t get a chance to talk to him.”

Despite not having much contact with the coaches while on campus with so many prospects on hand, Corbitt enjoyed everything about his trip to Chapel Hill.

“It was a good game,” he said. “Both UNC and Pitt had a good team, but UNC had that energy the whole game. I think UNC is great, it’s close to home, has good academics, their football program is big and I loved the atmosphere there.”

Corbitt, who is rated as a 2-star prospect, excels on the gridiron as well as the hardwood in the winter. He isn’t a one sport athlete now, and wouldn’t mind continuing that in college.

“I want to play both sports if I can, but if not then just football,” he said, noting both sports. “For football, I have offers from UCF, Coastal Carolina, Massachusetts, Tulane, Alabama A&M, and Troy, for basketball I have offers from Towson, N.C. A&T, East Tennessee State, Hampton, Radford, and UNCA.”

As for UNC, Corbitt hopes to get an opportunity to get back on campus for a more in-depth evaluation.
