A newcomer onto UNC’s radar in the spring, Newton County (GA) point guard Ashton Hagans has been offered by UNC, sources close to the situation confirmed to THI on Friday morning.

Hagans, who is transferring to Oak Hill Academy, is the No. 8 overall prospect in the class of 2019 and already owns offers from Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Wake Forest and others. Hagans was at No. 35 in the spring.

A point guard in the truest sense, Hagans is known for actively getting teammates involved and thriving on playing that way, while he’s also adept at finding his spots. He’s an efficient scorer in that scenario, too.

"Ashton Hagans is in the conversation with Cole Anthony and a few others as the best floor generals in that class," THI basketball recruiting analyst Clint Jackson said. "Hagans is a pure one who sets his guys up. Great vision as a passer, thinks fast, pushes tempo. Love his defense too and there aren't many guys who engage on that side of the court anymore,"

Stay with THI for more on Hagans’ recruitment.
