No longer committed to South Florida, Kamari Morales is interested in UNC among some other schools.
No longer committed to South Florida, Kamari Morales is interested in UNC among some other schools.

Tallahassee, FL, class of 2019 tight end Kamari Morales got some good news this past week when North Carolina assistant coach Chad Scott presented him with an scholarship offer.

"Coach Chad Scott, the tight ends coach offered me,"the 6-3, 230 pounder told THI."When he offered me, he said they haven't taking a tight end in two years and that I'm a freak that he wants."

Morales, rated as 3-star prospect, decided three weeks ago to reopen his recruitment, thus making the tough decision to decommit from South Florida and search for the best overall fit going forward.

"It has to be the perfect fit, where I fit in with the offensive scheme,"he said. "The university has to feel like home."

The interest from the Tar Heels wasn't surprising, Morales has been in regular contact with Scott since last fall.

"I've been talking to Coach Scott all year,"he said. "I like Coach (Chad) Scott a lot, he is very cool and energetic person. And I know a UNC degree would be great to have."

Morales doesn't lack for confidence in what he brings to the football field, but is hoping he can knock out some kinks before entering college in a year.

"I can make plays in many ways,"he said. "But I feel I'm best with the ball in my hands, but i want to improve on in-line blocking."

Right now Morales is in no rush to commit to another school, he's slowly going about this to make sure he makes the best decision for himself.

"I expect to receive more offers, especially during the spring,"he replied."I would like to visit UNC, Clemson, South Carolina, FSU and Florida, that's all I can think of right now, but I will go see any schools that's interested in me."

Morales has also reported offers from Kentucky, Ole Miss, Maryland, Central Florida and Memphis among others.
