LAHAINA, HI – North Carolina overcame a 21-point second-half deficit Monday night to beat Dayton, 92-90, in the quarterfinals of the Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.
UNC trailed by 21 points with 17:46 remaining but outscored the Flyers 57-34 to close out the game. RJ Davis led the Tar Heels with 30 points while Seth Trimble had career highs in points with 27 and rebounds with 10.
UNC (4-1) will face No. 4 Auburn on Tuesday night at 11:00 PM in the semifinals. Dayton dropped to 5-1.
