Mill Creek (Hoschton, GA) 3-Star OG John Harris has had a couple of good weeks on the recruiting trail. Well, the visiting trail.

Virginia Tech was first up on September 17 when Harris took in the Hokies’ blowout of Boston College. He left Blacksburg feeling really good about where things currently stand with the new coaching staff, further tabbing them in his top 3.

The next visit for the class of 2018 prospect was when North Carolina came from 13 points down with 6 minutes left to play to defeat Pittsburgh. Harris and his mom took in Chapel Hill to further build the on-going relationship with offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic and see more of what things are like around UNC on game day.

Leaving the game, Harris's mom had a really good time and shared her thoughts with her son on what she felt.

"She liked it, and very impressed with everything UNC has to offer, the academic opportunities was really something that stood out," Harris recalled his mother saying. Harris and his mom both believe that bond with Coach Kap got even stronger.

The Georgia native enjoyed the whole game day set up. During the day Harris took in a nice lunch, an academic presentation, and pre and postgame team festivities, this was a good experience for the 6-4, 275-pound competitor.

"The game was crazy. I really enjoyed the emotion-filled locker room and the celebratory post game atmosphere,” Harris said. “It was hype and really electric afternoon."

Harris is a versatile lineman who is not set in stone on a specific position, he is just working hard to get better and will play any position he needs in order to make sure his team is successful.

He plans to take in games at Cincinnati, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, and possibly FSU sometime soon.
