Brian Anderson wants to set the record straight: The 3-star, 2017 offensive lineman from Montgomery, AL, is fully committed to North Carolina.

He’s not interested in any other school, contrary to a report earlier this week that had him suggesting Auburn could potentially swoop in and steal him from the Tar Heels and that he was going to visit a couple of SEC schools.

The report upset Anderson, and he wanted to make clear none of what was reported are in his plans.

“Yeah, whoever wrote that article pulled those facts out of nowhere,” Anderson told THI. “I never gave an interview or anything. He also said I was going to visit Florida? But no, I’m solid to UNC.”

Anderson continued a minute later.

“(It) kinda pissed me off that they wrote that, but it’s whatever,” he said.

Anderson committed to UNC at the conclusion of the Freak Show back in June and just turned in an outstanding senior season. Montgomery Catholic went 8-2, the school’s first winning season in eight years, and personally Anderson has earned some impressive honors and more are likely to come.

He was selected to play in the annual Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game,

He O-D All-American Bowl, and while regional and all-state teams haven’t been released yet, he expects to be on them, as well.

“I had a really good year as far as producing gaps for my running backs to run in, but the most important thing was that I didn’t get injured during the year so that was a really good thing,” he said.

Anderson said his strength at the point of attack was what he improved on the most this season. And now that the campaign is over, he will begin preparation for the next stage of his life, which will begin in the summer when he enrolls at UNC.

As for when he reports, are there any physical mandates set by the UNC staff for Anderson?

“Not really,” he replied. “I plan on reporting up around 285-290 and then let them mold me into whatever they want me to be once I get there.”
