"Coach (Luke) Paschall offered me through direct messaging," the 5-10, 165 pounder told THI. "He said he loved the way I played and I was an overall football player."

As for the Tar Heels, Sheffield is excited to learn how he can fit in the Carolina offense.

"I feel I'm quick off the line and I get up the field fast," he said. "I like how they throw the ball and use slot guys."

Even though Sheffield is being recruited as a wide receiver, he is prides himself on being an all-around football player, willing to do whatever asked of him.

"I play running back, kick returner, punt return, and corner-back," he said." It feels great, I try to make plays for my team and coaches, so we can achieve our goal of the state championship."

During his junior campaign, Sheffield had 56 receptions for 840 yards and 5 touchdowns, 24 carries for 119 yards and 1 touchdown, and on the other side of the ball he picked off a pass and recovered a fumble.

While talking to the UNC coaches, he was given a list of the spring practice dates and hopes to get to Chapel Hill.

"I want to get to know the coaches, see all the facilities and see how they would use me in their offense," he said.
