Dutchtown, GA, safety Trey Dean is a 4-star prospect generating a great deal of national attention from some of the best programs in the country.
The process began last weekend when the rising junior prospect took in Chapel Hill for the UNC-JMU game. This visit allowed the big-play defensive back to see the inside of the Carolina program.
"My visit to UNC was great, Dean told THI. “North Carolina is a great university and program all around the board."
During his time at UNC, the 6-2, 180 pounder spent some time getting to talk with and strengthening his relationship with defensive backs Coach Charlton Warren, after which he got some time to look around campus and see more of what UNC had going on.
"I loved the campus and the facilities were really good,” Dean said. “The weight room was impressive, it was my favorite facility they had."
Academics is something UNC has going in its favor with Dean, who is really interested in academics and feels like going somewhere that is going to help him when football is over.
Dean’s size, coverage skills and his toughness as an aggressive tackler are his attributes, the staff has told Dean, and he believes the relationship will only get stronger.
"They may offer, but want to come to one of my games and see me in action." Dean said.
"I have to improve my technique going forward and then who knows what may happen. If they offer me I will definitely come back and visit."
The Peach State talent is going to visit in-state schools Georgia, and Georgia Tech soon while making trips to SEC schools Florida, and Vanderbilt in the near future.
