ASHEVILLE, NC – Imagine for a moment a basketball game could morph into sort of a dance circle.

A basketball team, full of plenty of bells and whistles, forms a pseudo boogie pit, and every few minutes, a different player gets an opportunity to show off his moves. Ballet, contemporary, ballroom, hip hop, jazz, tap, folk, and modern. Sort of.

Instead, it’s hoops, and after North Carolina’s mosh-pit performance in spotting UNLV a 13-0 lead not even four minutes into Monday’s opening-round game of the Maui Invitational, the Tar Heels became poetry in motion.
