CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina put forth probably its best stretch of basketball this season over the last 12 minutes of the first half in erupting to a 103-82 victory over No. 10 Virginia Tech on Monday night at the Smith Center.

Coby White led the Tar Heels in points (27), rebounds (7), assists (6) and steals (4), becoming the first freshman to accomplish that in a game since Joe Forte in 2000. Nassir Little added 23 points as five Tar Heels scored in double figures.

UNC improved to 15-4 overall and 5-1 in the ACC while the Hokies dropped to 15-3 and 4-2.
