Tangara, Dickey play well in Curry Shootout

The Dell Curry Shootout got underway Jan. 2 in Charlotte, and some Tar Heel prospects had good showings. Mohamed Tangara, the 6-10 big man from Durham Mount Zion, finished with 11 points as the Warriors held off South Mecklenburg 73-61. Although Tangara did not post great offensive numbers, he was a force on defense. Mt. Zion will face Winston-Salem Reynolds tonight (Jan. 3) at 8:30. Reynolds has UNC signee Reyshawn Terry and possible walk-on Justin Bohlander.
Another major game of interest to Heels fans Jan. 2 was Bennettsville (S.C.) Marlboro County, with UNC prospects Ra'Sean Dickey and Cassan Breeden, against Charlotte Latin, with Anthony Morrow. Charlotte Latin came out on top with a hard-fought 62-58 win. Morrow, a 6-6 wing forward, led the Hawks with 36 points. Dickey had a nice game of 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Breeden finished with 11 points. Marlboro County will play Charlotte Vance tonight at 6:00.
