The North Carolina Tar Heels, coming off an 11-3 season in which they finished ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll, will begin the 2016 campaign ranked No. 22.
Carolina have 14 starters back from last season but are the fourth ACC team ranked in the poll, but the Tar Heels are the highest rated team from the Coastal Division.
Clemson is No. 2, Florida State No. 4 and Louisville is No. 19. Also receiving votes from the ACC are Miami (No. 26) and Pittsburgh (34).
UNC opens the season Sept. 3 in the Georgia Dome versus No. 18 Georgia.
Defending national champion Alabama begins the season No. 1.
