Jayden Curry, a 2019 defensive back from Bayside H.S. in Virginia Beach, VA, committed Tuesday to play football at North Carolina.

Curry, who attended the Freak Show at Kenan Stadium this past weekend, has also fielded offers from Maryland, N.C. State and Virginia Tech, among others. Tennessee and Clemson have been in regular contact and may still offer.

At 5-10 and 184 pounds, Curry primarily plays cornerback on defense.

The following is what Rivals.com analyst Adam Friedman wrote about Curry following his performance at the Rivals Camp Series in Charlotte:

"Curry is a bigger defensive back and he used his size to his advantage. He was very physical with receivers at the line of scrimmage and once they were in their routes. Curry came up with a couple of very nice pass breakups on jump balls and hauled in a few interceptions."

UNC offered Curry the week after the Rivals camp, which took place April 30.

Curry is the second member of the class of 2019 to commit in the last three days, joining 4-star defensive and/athlete Hakeem Beamon, who committed Sunday. Beamon is also from Virginia, as he attends L.C. Bird H.S. in Chesterfield.
