North Carolina has yet to host 4-star offensive lineman Rasheed Walker, but that doesn't mean the Maryland native hasn't caught the eye of the Heels staff during the 2018 cycle.

"I talk to Coach (Chris Kapilovic) Kap on the phone and it seems he has high energy and that is really good," Walker told THI. "He really seems like a really good guy."

The 6-5, 265-pound competitor who attends North Point High School in Waldorf, MD, a suburb of Washington, D.C., feels that his strengths of pass blocking and toughness has allowed him to have schools such as North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Florida, Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State and others extending him scholarship offers.

Walker is eager to learn more about North Carolina, the school, campus and of course, the Tar Heels football program. But he also wants to build a closer bond with the staff, more on a one-on-one basis.

"I have yet to visit there, but I want to come soon and see how the coaches do things down there, and see if this is the best fit for me overall as a student-athlete," he said.

The next step for the Walker is to take his first visit to Chapel Hill and see what things seem to stand out to him, both athletically and academically.

Being a highly coveted prospect is allowing Walker to see many different options and paths to the next level. One in which it seems like North Carolina can be a factor going forward.

Walker isn’t ready to cut his list yet, he likes all the schools that have offered him so far. But he’s planning more visits and then go from there to find out the best fit for him.
