Auburn WR Deandre Green Suspended Indefinitely
Auburn wide receiver Deandre Green has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules and will not play in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl announced head coach Tommy Tuberville this past weekend.
Tuberville announced the suspension after a pair of workouts Saturday and said that Green's status with the team will be re-evaluated in January. Green is Auburn's second leading receiver with 32 catches for 339 yards and two touchdowns this season.
In other news, the Tigers used Saturday for two intense workouts in full gear with the first session taking place on the practice fields and the second workout held in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
''We had a good pair of practices,'' Tuberville said. ''This morning we worked mainly against ourselves and worked a little on the game plan. This afternoon, we worked more on the game plan and on the kicking game. We had two physical practices which we will continue through next week.''
Tuberville said one of the advantages of having bowl practice is that it allows the younger players on the team the opportunity to receive extra work.
''As we go through the week, the repetitions of the seniors will decrease and the repetitions of the younger players will increase,'' Tuberville said. ''We're going to have a scrimmage mid-week with most of the players that haven't seen a lot of time this season. We're doing a lot of technique work, so the team will be ready for the holiday break.''
Auburn will practice once Sunday at 3 p.m. and will continue two-a-days from Monday through Friday with practices slated for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Auburn faces North Carolina in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
