As an individual who covers college basketball recruiting, I can vouch that there is not a busier time of the year than when the transfer portal begins. As the low and mid-major conference tournaments have concluded we are beginning to see an influx of players heading into the collegiate version of free agency. It will only grow by four digits over the next few weeks.

Coaching staffs can not legally make contact with these players at this point. So as we begin to look at some of the more valuable players who have hit the portal, keep in mind that we have no leads on those in which the Tar Heel staff has interest. What we do want to document are some of the top available prospects and/or the ones from the state of North Carolina.
