Fairmont HS (NC) is home to a blossoming prospect in Jordan Waters. A 6-1, 195-pound wide receiver, Waters left North Carolina’s Junior Day this past weekend with a high regard for the Tar Heels.

He’s seen his recruiting pick up of late, with offers coming from Duke, Wake Forest and most recently East Carolina. After compiling an impressive junior season of 75 catches for 976 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns, Waters is ready for his recruiting to take off to the next level.

“UNC is definitely in my top 5,” Waters told THI after his visit.

With his visit to Chapel Hill in the books, and several more trips on the horizon, Waters explained to THI what his visit to UNC this past Saturday truly meant to him:

How was Junior Day at UNC?

“It was great, had a lot of fun.”

Which part would you say stood out to you the most about the visit?

“It has to be between the (basketball) game and taking photos.”

Speaking of the game, what did you think of the Dean Dome? How was the atmosphere of the game and buzz in the arena?

“It was crazy loud in there, they have some of the best fans in the ACC.”

Which coaches did you speak with and what did they say to you?

“Coach Gunter (Brewer), the wide receivers coach. He invited me back to campus and told me that we’ll talk some football when I come back down.”

Did you get a chance to see the football facilities, and if so what did you think?

“Yeah, they’re actually building a 90-million dollar indoor facility, it’s going to be great to see. I like their locker room as well, and Jordan (Brand) sponsors them.

You said that Coach Brwer invited you back to campus, are you planning on attending one of UNC’s one day camps this summer as well?

“I’ll probably go watch a spring practice and attend a one day camp this summer.”
