UNC has two running back commitments for the class of 2017 after Antwuan Branch flipped from Purdue to the Tar Heels on Sunday.

Branch, a 3-star back who is 6-0, 200 pounds, had been committed to Purdue for some time, but visited UNC in September and had a fantastic time. And on Sunday morning, he flipped giving Carolina two running backs in the class. Michael Carter from Navarre, FL, has also committed.

He had recently been offered by Iowa and overall his offer list included Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, and Iowa State.

Here’s what he said in his tweet from Sunday morning:

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for continually blessing me. Without Him, I wouldn’t he in the situation I’m in. I would also like to thank my parents, George Branch and Serethia King, my head coach, Coach Beaubien, staff and teammates. Coach Clark, and athletic trust for helping me get through this tough situation. I would also like to thank Purdue’s coaching staff for helping me and understanding me through this entire situation. Due to some changes at Purdue University, new college offers and recent visits with other colleges, I will spend my next four years at the University of North Carolina.”

Branch attends Kenwood High School in Clarkssville, TN.
