MIAMI GARDENS, FL – North Carolina bent a lot on defense Saturday, but didn’t break that much, as the Tar Heels held off Miami, 27-24, at Hard Rock Stadium.

UNC’s defense allowed the Hurricanes a huge second quarter, and for Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke to pass for 496 yards, but a few big plays and a crucial 18-play scoring drive in the fourth quarter lifted Carolina to the victory.
