Let's start off by talking about the "monkey" in the room. Losing to Duke and NC State in football, in the same season, or at any time to be honest, is UNACCEPTABLE on every level.

If the Tar Heel Football Program wants to be in the National Conversation every year, it must take care of these types of teams. When I say the National Conversation, I'm not talking about for a National Title. I'm talking about being in the Top 25 every year and every once in a while crack the Top 15 or higher.

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason why this cannot happen on a regular basis. If this program ever expects to get to this point, they must beat these two schools each and every year, PERIOD. You can beat the Florida States and Miamis of the world, but when you lose to schools as pathetic as these two, you're no better than they are and we will not accept that.

It looks like Coach Fedora will stay at Carolina for another year as the Texas and LSU jobs have come off the board. I've heard a lot of rumblings since the game on Friday that he hasn't won a big game since he's been at Carolina and this style of play will never be successful long term. He has us going in the right direction and I firmly believe he should be given as much time as needed to get us where Tar Heels everywhere want this program to go. We should not forget that Butch Davis and his rough riders rolled into Chapel Hill and almost destroyed our beloved football program. Coach Fedora and his staff have cleaned up Coach Davis' garbage and even though we wanted more last year and this year, it just wasn't in the cards.

In my opinion, Coach Fedora should really look at bringing in a full time Offensive Coordinator for next season for play calling duties. There have been multiple plays in crucial situations this year that were called that just left Carolina fans everywhere scratching their heads.

I understand that Coach Fedora doesn't care what people think about the play calling, as he stated after the game, because we don't know what the team is working on for certain situations in practice. He also said that if the "trick plays" work, everybody is happy and when they don't, people question them. That may be true, but I don't care who you are, you don't have a wide receiver throw the football in the red zone to your Quarterback, you just don't, I'm sorry. I don't care how often you work on this play in practice. Just saying!

Our Offensive Coordinator, Coach Chris Kapilovic, is my favorite coach on this staff and there's no close second. Coach Kap is also the offensive line coach, which requires him to be on the field during games. Nobody, in my opinion, does a better job coaching the offensive line in the country. But we need someone else in the booth upstairs calling the plays. Coach Keith Heckendorf, the Passing Game Coordinator and Quarterback's Coach, has been calling the plays this year, he's not the Offensive Coordinator. Nobody was happier for Coach Kap than I was when he was promoted after last year. I wondered then as I do now about how effective we would be with him on the sidelines. I have my answer after the regular season has ended and it's time for a change!

Finally, Friday was the last game in Kenan Stadium for the Seniors. Even though they didn't win their final game, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for what they did for the fans and our school during their four years in Chapel Hill. They all have been great representatives for North Carolina and we can all be proud of each one of them. The following Seniors made great contributions in their four years and I personally won't forget them:

Ryan Switzer

Des Lawrence

Khris Francis

T.J. Logan

Mack Hollins

Mikey Bart

Nick Weiler

Dominquie Green

Lucas Crowley

John Ferranto

Caleb Peterson

John Heck

Bug Howard

The players returning and the incoming freshmen class have some BIG shoes to fill for the Tar Heels to continue forward in the 2017 season. I believe it can be done and cannot wait to see where Coach Fedora and his staff take us. I'm ready and I'm sure all of you are. GO HEELS!
