NEW YORK, N.Y. - North Carolina junior tight ends John Copenhaver and Bryson Nesbit have been placed on the 2023 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end.

In 2022, Nesbit was named Honorable Mention All-ACC after he appeared in all 14 games at tight end. He ranked third on the team in receptions (35) and yards receiving (507) last season.

Last season, Copenhaver appeared in 13 games and finished the season with 198 yards receiving and 12 catches.

The 2023 Tar Heel offense will look to continue its passing game success from a season ago. In 2022, the Tar Heel offense ranked 11th in the country in passing offense and 19th in total offense.
