North Carolina lost a hard fought battle to Kentucky Saturday in Atlanta. It was an exciting game to watch as an 87-83 score would indicate. For all of the possessions in an up-and-down pace it was a coin flip going down the stretch.
When a team wins games like this strengths can get full attention while weaknesses go unnoticed. A loss can send perspective reeling in the other direction. Shortcomings are in a fishbowl while the good is forgotten. North Carolina had both extremes against Kentucky. There was plenty to build upon, and likewise plenty that needs to be worked on leaving Atlanta.
Many who follow Kentucky believe this is the best team there is several years. North Carolina was still just a play or two away from flipping the outcome in a very exciting game that was definitely worth the price of admission.
