CHAPEL HILL – LSU graduate transfer quarterback Brandon Harris was made available to the media for the first time since he arrived in June to play his final year of eligibility with North Carolina.

Harris, who started 15 of the 22 games he played as a Tiger, discussed his transition learning a new offense, blending in and why he came to UNC.

Here are a few snippets from what Harris had to say Monday:

On getting used to the fast-paced Fed spread offense after running a more pro-style, slower offense at LSU

“I could tell with the way they trained in the summer the practices would be fast paced because the running and strength and conditioning as well as how we run around from every drill in practice is getting you ready to run this offense.”

On if he was treated fairly at LSU

“I’m glad to be here, man, I’m glad to be here. I graduated with a degree from LSU, which was in three years, which was incredible, they were very, very beneficial towards me, I have nothing but respect for that program and the people that are over there. I’m thankful that Coach (Les) Miles gave me the opportunity to lead my in-state school. But, I’ve moved on and I’m glad to be here at North Carolina.”

*Said he has a good relationship with Manny Miles, the son of Les Miles and current walk-on QB at UNC. “I’ve known Manny since 11th grade. Manny has been another big help to learn this offense.”

*Said he loved playing for Miles and that if he recruited him again today he’d probably play for him. But, “things just didn’t work out.”
