CHAPEL HILL – UNC offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic met with the media following Tuesday’s practice at Kenan Stadium to discuss what went well with UNC’s big runs versus Virginia, the Brandon Harris-Chazz Surratt situation from last week and more.

Here are a few snippets of what Kapilovic had to say:

*Kap was asked about what transpired last week at practice that le to Brandon Harris starting versus Virginia. Before replying he paused and let out a nervous laugh.

“Has (Larry) Fedora said what happened,” he asked. “Somebody printed something, and I don’t know who because somebody sent it to me, but that there were arguments between him and (quarterbacks coach Keith) Heckendorf, that is completely false. That is not what happened.

“Again, we don’t talk about sickness (and) injuries, the bottom line was, throughout the practice Brandon was able to practice every rep and so he was able to start. I can say this much, it wasn’t about him (Surratt) being benched, or anything of that nature and it definitely wasn’t about attitude or an argument. That’s probably as much as I’m allowed to say, but I think those two things are important for people to know it didn’t have anything to do with being benched or any kind of argument with a coach.”

*Asked if there is a rule or cut off line for when a player can’t play anymore because of his body temperature, Kap said, “It’s strictly a doctor’s decision, we don’t make that decision. Whatever the doctors tell us as far as whether a guy can practice or can’t practice, play or can’t play, we go with that.”
