North Carolina picked up its fifth class of 2024 commitment when athlete Khalil Conley committed to the Tar Heels on Monday night. The 6-foot, 170-pounder from Christ School in Arden, NC, was in Chapel Hill this weekend for their huge recruiting weekend.

Conley was offered in January and has made a few visits to North Carolina since the offer. He will most likely play somewhere in the defensive secondary.

He picked the Tar Heels over offers from Duke, East Carolina, Missouri, NC State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

He is the fifth Tar Heel commitment in this class and the second player from North Carolina.

Deana's Take:

"With the Tar Heels getting an athletic player like Conley is huge. He is a tremendous playmaker wherever he plays on the field. It's also huge for Coach Mack Brown to land a player in Western North Carolina, a place that Tennessee and the rest of the SEC has done well in."
