North Carolina’s staff was quite busy handing out offers over the last week. In all, the Tar Heels extended to 21 prospects, including 2020 defensive end Omari Thomas hailing from Briarcrest Christian in Memphis, TN.

Thomas was surprised to hear he was joining his teammate Jabari Small (2020 RB) with an offer from the Tar Heels.

"I'm not positive what coach offered me, because they talked to my head coach," the 6-5, 265 pounder told THI. "I actually did not know they were even looking at me, I knew they were recruiting my brother and teammate Jabari Small."

Other than the Heels, Thomas has offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Tennessee among many others.

Tar Heel Illustrated caught up with Thomas to discuss more about the UNC offer and his game in general.

Here Is The Interview:

THI: How familiar are you with the North Carolina program?

Thomas: One thing I do know is UNC football is on the come up. I don't know anything else really other than the basketball team.

THI: Entering your junior season, what are your strengths as a prospect and what do you feel you to improve on within the next two years?

Thomas: On the defensive side of the ball, I think I fly to the ball pretty well and I get off blocks, then I want to improve my quickness. On the offensive side of the ball, I use my hands well and finish blocks and I just want to improve on my stance and quickness as well.

THI: Since you mentioned you play on both the offensive and defensive lines respectively, what position is UNC recruiting you for?

Thomas: North Carolina is recruiting me for the offensive line I think.

THI: If you got the opportunity to visit Chapel Hill this summer or possibly this fall for a game, what would you like to learn and experience?

Thomas: I just want to see the school and see if I would feel comfortable or a family environment.

THI: Have you taken any college trips this past spring?

Thomas: No sir, I’ve been playing AAU basketball, so I haven't been on any visits or been to any camps.

THI: Would you look into playing both football and basketball in college if you got offered the chance?

Thomas: I would love to play both, but only God can tell with time what will happen.

THI: Right now looking on your strong list of offers, do any programs standout?

Thomas: Everyone has a chance in this recruitment, it's no certain school as of right now.
