One of the young prospects that really made an impact when Tar Heel Illustrated was out in Colorado Springs, CO, for the annual USA Basketball minicamp last fall was 6-foot-7 Noah Batchelor from Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, MD.

The sophomore showed off a comprehensive floor game as an impressive shooter, leaper, slasher and rebounder against elite competition. The forward shot the ball with range, wrestled rebounds inside and started the break as a point forward at times and just played with a confident air about him over both games that we saw him.

Simply put, he looked like one of the best 2022 prospects in the entire arena over the three-day event. He’s currently the No. 55 prospect nationally in the class of 2022.

THI caught up with Batchelor as well as his father, Keith, to learn more about the player and we discovered that the skilled forward already holds some pretty impressive high major offers from Memphis, Georgetown, Maryland, Clemson, Virginia Tech, George Washington and Florida. And he's getting interest from many other regional schools in the Big East, SEC and ACC.

His dad, however, admits that the Atlantic Coast Conference already has a special place in his heart.

"His dream has always been to play in the ACC," said Keith Batchelor. "He was also just invited to go back to the Junior USA minicamp in Atlanta. So, he's been putting in work to get ready for that. I'm excited to see what the future holds for him."

Noah, himself, seeks somewhere that he can showcase his ability to play all over the floor. So how a program would use him, as well as their style of play, will be important factors.

"I'm looking for a program that's versatile," he said. "I am currently used in every position, outside of point guard. I like being able to post and shoot. Having the court IQ and ability to work multiple positions is clutch."

He describes his game well when prompted. And is quick to offer what he feels his strengths are, as well as his opportunities to grow as a player.

He feels that he's a quick release shooter, explosive athlete and has a strong mid-range game. He also plays an energetic brand of basketball and has high intelligence at game speed. He wants to improve as a ball-handler and get quicker with his first burst and first step.

Batchelor just announced that he will play his spring and summer AAU basketball with Team Thrill from Baltimore.
