Beau Corrales, a 3-star wide receiver from Georgetown, TX, committed to North Carolina on Monday evening.

Corrales, who was once committed to Iowa, had his official visit in Chapel Hill this past weekend, and informed the coaching staff Monday he wants to be a Tar Heel.

"I loved the campus and the energy of the players and coaches," Corrales told THI. "They made it a very fun weekend and it just seemed like everyone there enjoyed themselves."

Corrales visited Indiana last month and has received a half-dozen or so offers from Power 5 schools since decomitting from Iowa, but he was immediately interested in UNC when the school reached out, and even move up his visit to this past weekend because he was anxious to get to Chapel Hill.

While at UNC this weekend, he felt like a priority, which was also a factor in his decision.

"I spent a lot more time with (Larry) Fedora than I thought I would've,” he said. “It was good to talk to just about everyone."

The basketball game between the Tar Heels and Florida State was also a highlight.

"The basketball game was insane,” he said. “I've never been in an environment like that for basketball before.”

Corrales will sign his letter of intent on National Signing Day on Feb. 1.
