UNC received a commitment Thursday from 4-star quarterback Tyler Shough, who attends Hamilton High School in Chandler, AZ.

Shough, who is 6-5 and 195 pounds and in the class of 2018, took part in UNC’s camp session Wednesday afternoon and a day later committed to the Tar Heels. Among Shough’s many offers are from Alabama, Michigan, Florida State and Georgia.

Shough is rated the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Arizona, No. 9 quarterback nationally and the No. 192 overall prospect nationally. Shough recently advanced to the Elite 11 Finals, which will be held June 29-30 in Beaverton, OR.

Along with the Tar Heels, South Carolina, Cal, Michigan and Indiana comprised his final five schools.
