North Carolina’s basketball season is here, and with it comes plenty of questions about how the new-look Tar Heels will mesh, but also reason for optimism given the quality of the roster upgrade, and the apparent mission on which the club has embarked.

UNC missed the NCAA Tournament last season going 20-13 overall, 11-9 in the ACC, and lacking many noteworthy victories. But only four scholarship Tar Heels are back from that club, and on paper, Hubert Davis made a significant upgrade replacing the players who moved on.
