Austin Suspended Indefinitely

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. ----- University of North Carolina announced Wednesday afternoon that head coach Butch Davis has suspended defensive tackle Marvin Austin indefinitely.
"This decision is not a result of the ongoing NCAA review," says Davis. "Marvin has violated team rules and has neglected his responsibilities to the team."

Austin will not play Saturday vs. LSU.
Austin, a senior out of Washington (D.C.), is a three-year starter for the Tar Heels and is widely considered one of the top prospects at defensive tackle for the 2011 NFL Draft.
Austin has been at the center of an investigation surrounding potential improper agent benefits since July, when NCAA officials first came to Chapel Hill.
Austin has been practicing with the second team for much of the preseason and in recent days has been working with the scout team.
