Booker discusses UNC offer

In their effort to add more scorers and wings from the class of 2014, Roy Williams and Steve Robinson made a trip down to the Gulf Coast Tuesday to evaluate and be seen by one of the top shooters in the country in Devin Booker.
The 6-5 junior from Moss Point (Miss.) was also presented a scholarship offer while the UNC coaches were in town and the way it was delivered made a good impression on Booker.

"It felt really good to get an offer from UNC as they were the last school that was recruiting me that hadn't offered," said Booker. "I really liked the way that he did it by making the trip down here and doing it in person. That meant a lot."
He says that Williams reiterated how well he would fit in with their program and what how he feels the junior SG could help the Tar Heels.
"He mentioned how well that I would fit with their offense and that they need more wings and they need someone that can really score the ball. He feels that I am the type of guy who can shoot and score at UNC," he said.
Booker recently took an unofficial visit to UNC on February 23rd and he has been on quite the tour of schools over the past few weeks.
He's visited Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, Florida and Missouri recently and he estimates that he has about 15 offers from high major programs at the present time.
Of the most aggressive, the Mississippi native named some of the programs that have made him feel like a priority.
"Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri and Stanford," he told THI.
With a lot of visits out of the way and the spring AAU circuit about to kick off, Booker says that he will take the next step in his recruitment later on in the warmer months.
"Sometime after the summer, we will sit down and set a time table," he said. "Then we will go from there."
Booker is ranked 24th overall in the class of 2014 by Rivals.com and is one of the best shooters in the nation at his position.
