CHAPEL HILL – A lot of people around the program are expecting a big year from junior defensive end Malik Carney.

Carney arrived at UNC a linebacker but moved to end last summer and because of injuries and opportunity saw himself on the field more and more. As his confidence grow so did his game.

Carney met with some members of the media the other day to discuss a variety of things, among them the defensive line, not just his position at end and the depth the Tar Heels have, but also the guys in the interior, what he personally learned, having Dajaun Drennon back healthy and more.

Carney, by the way, attended T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA, which is the school featured in the movie “Remember The Titans.” Defensive tackle Jeremiah Clarke also attended T.C. Williams.
