North Carolina welcomed 12 early enrollees into the program in January, but with 19 members of the class of 2021, that means seven more will arrive in the summer.
The Tar Heels signed 19 prospects in the class of 2021 and seven of those signees will play their senior season in football during the spring.
Two of those signees Eli Sutton and Dontae Balfour completed their senior season last fall. Sutton, an offensive lineman from Brentwood Academy in Nashville, TN, finished his campaign with a 11-1 season. Balfour, a defensive back from Bradford High School in Starke, FL, finished the year at 5-6. He was the only member of the class to sign in February.
So, five future Tar Heels will begin their spring seasons this Friday. Four players are located in the Tar Heel State and one from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Tymir Brown, Kamarro Edmonds, Bryson Nesbit, Gabe Stephens, and Trevion Stevenson will have spring football seasons due to Covid postponing high school football in North Carolina and Virginia.
