Hairston was injured in the second half as he attempted to draw a charge. He braced his fall with his left hand, came out of the game moments later and was unable to return.
He underwent a series of medical tests today, and the results showed a sprain and contusion but no fracture.
Hairston is Carolina's fifth-leading scorer (8.3 ppg) and leads the Tar Heels with 14 three-point goals.
He scored a season-high 19 points against South Carolina and 15 against UNLV and was named to the Las Vegas Invitational All-Tournament Team.
