For the second time in their last four games, North Carolina fell behind by 20 or more points only to charge back and take the lead.

This time, the Tar Heels completed the comeback by getting a victory, as they overcame a 21-point deficit with 17:36 left to beat Dayton, 92-90, on Monday night in the quarterfinals of the Maui Invitational.

Seventeen days ago, UNC trailed at top-ranked Kansas by 20 points late in the first half and eventually took the lead, only to see the Jayhawks close on a 9-2 run and win the game by three points.

Monday night, Carolina guards RJ Davis and Seth Trimble combined for 37 points after halftime as the No. 12 Tar Heels posted 59 on the board. Davis led all scorers with 30 points and Trimble scored a career-high 27 points while also registering the first double-double of his career adding 10 rebounds to his stat line.

The Tar Heels improved to 4-1 and the Flyers dropped to 5-1. UNC will face No. 4 Auburn on Tuesday night at 11:00 PM EST in the semifinals. The game will air on ESPN.
