Mulberry (FL) class of 2020 athlete Arian Smith was excited last week to see Florida State and North Carolina extend his first two scholarship offers.
"The offer from UNC felt good, one of the best feelings in my life," he told THI. "My hard work is paying off, not every teenager gets the opportunity."
Smith (6-1, 196) is not taking anything for granted and knows this is just the beginning.
"I got to stay humble and hungry." he said. "Then hopefully, I receive more blessings."
Right now, Smith has admitted he isn't familiar with the Tar Heels, but UNC tight ends coach Chad Scott, who extended him the offer, is forging a relationship.
"Coach Chad Scott reached out," he said. "I can't really say much, I never seen or met anyone of them personally yet."
With him entering his junior year, Smith is currently being recruited as an athlete and is open minded about how things may play out.
"My strength, my size, explosive power, jumping ability and my rawness and my fast learning ability, and play-making ability are my strengths," he said. "I can play multiple positions, as in special teams and defense."
Other than scheduling a visit to Chapel Hill, Smith is also planning to see Florida State, Auburn, UCF and Georgia.
