Khalif Mitchell not enrolled in Fall Semester

Chapel Hill, N.C. - North Carolina head football coach John Bunting announced Thursday that defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell will not be enrolled at the University in the fall. A rising junior from Virginia Beach, Va., Mitchell had 13 tackles in 11 games last season.

"Khalif's a good kid who has a lot of potential both on and off the field," said Bunting. "Our football program will stay in close contact with him. He will have the opportunity to return, but he will not be on the team this fall."
In addition, tailback Antwain Carey has decided to forego his football eligibility and will participate with the UNC track team next season.
