CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina opened up a 26-point halftime lead and eventually defeated visiting Stanford, 90-72, on Monday night at the Smith Center.

The No. 7 Tar Heels improved to 3-0 on the season while the Cardinal dropped to 2-1.
