CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina survived a sluggish performance and Gardner-Webb’s tenacity with a 77-61 victory on Friday night at the Smith Center.

The Tar Heels struggled most of the night, scoring just nine points midway through the first half and leading just 51-47 well into the second half.

UNC improved to 3-0 while the Bulldogs fell to 0-3.
