THI’s annual series taking a look at the Tar Heels returning for the coming season is back.

Measuring Black’s effectiveness on the basketball court is not limited to statistics, at least his own stats. He isn’t a high-volume scorer, and at times he has dished out quite a few assists or snared a bunch of rebounds. But his game is more about being connected to teammates, situationally doing something on the offensive end, and about his sensational defense.
