CHAPEL HILL – Offensive lineman Corey Gaynor is transferring from Miami to North Carolina. An expected December graduate, Gaynor will join the Carolina program for the spring semester and have one year of eligibility.

A Parkland, Fla. native, Gaynor has played in 38 career games, starting 28 along the interior offensive line. A team captain, he started the last 27 games of his career in south Florida at center after starting one game at right guard as a true freshman.

Gaynor had his string of 27 consecutive starts snapped after suffering a season-ending injury in the third game of 2021. He started all 11 games in 2020. Gaynor started all 13 games at center in 2019 and saw action in four games during the 2018 season, before deciding to redshirt. He started his career by playing in 10 games, making one start, as a true freshman in 2017.

Carolina is scheduled to take on South Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Dec. 30 in Charlotte. To purchase tickets directly from the bowl, click HERE.
