Class of 2018 Rivals 3-star cornerback Kendall Williamson got a surprise visitor this past week when the North Carolina defensive back coach Terry Joseph made the trek to Snellville, GA.

Joseph made his way to Brookwood High School to check out the potential he can find in the peach-state. While watching the team work out, the 6-1, 188-pound corner stood out, and the UNC assistant was intrigued enough to extend an offer.

"Coach came out to school, liked what he saw from me, and how I looked in person and offered me," he told THI. "He mentioned they like my upside, and the fact I'm a physical and versatile defensive back."

Williamson may not have been in contact with the Heels prior to last week, but he is amazed at the opportunity that North Carolina presents.

"I know they are an amazing program both academically and athletically, overall a very well rounded school," he said.

UNC presents a quality chance to have the best of both worlds, and with the program’s partnership with Jordan Brand will only raise awareness and intrigue with many prospects, Williamson included.

"I think Michael Jordan supporting the football program will be a change up, that's exciting to see," Williamson said.

Williamson has been hearing the most throughout the process from N.C. State, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Iowa State, but a looming visit to Chapel Hill can change things.

"I have not visited before. I'd definitely like to see the facilities and weight room," he said.

He’s in no rush to make his college decision, as there is a lot of information still to go through.
