Freedom coach Tim McMahon said his star player chose UNC over N.C. State, Clemson and Virginia Tech.

A 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior, Hemby is regarded by several experts as the top defensive back in the state. In leading Freedom to an 8-3 record last season, he had seven interceptions, returned kicks and also saw action on offense.
