Schedule Coming Soon
North Carolina football fans, and fans throughout the entire Atlantic Coast Conference, are still waiting---rather impatiently at this point---for the release of the league's schedule.
With 14 teams now in the league needing to schedule non-conference games, it has become even more difficult for the ACC to get all its ducks in a row and release the full schedule before the end of February.

North Carolina, of course, has had its non-conference schedule in place for a while, although it's still somewhat up for debate whether the season opener against South Carolina in Columbia will be Thursday, August 29 or Saturday, August 31.
South Carolina has listed the game as a Saturday game (August 31), while UNC sources have said they continue to hear the game will be Thursday night (August 29).
While that Thursday night game may not happen, Tar Heel Illustrated has learned that North Carolina will once again host a Thursday Night game on ESPN in Kenan Stadium, as UNC will host the weekly game October 17 in prime time. The opponent will more than likely be Miami.
This will be the second all-time Thursday Night game in Chapel Hill, four years after the first one back in 2009 against Florida State. This year's contest will be played over Fall Break, making it easier to arrange parking and other logistics on UNC's tightly-confined campus.
The other games currently on North Carolina's 2013 schedule is home games against Middle Tennessee State (September 7), East Carolina (September 28), and Old Dominion (October 12).
There have also been rumors that UNC will open its ACC schedule at Pittsburgh September 14---Carolina's first game against Pitt since they joined the league.
Perhaps it won't be much longer before fans can start making some firm plans to see the Tar Heels in action, both home and on the road, this coming fall with the release of the full schedule.
