Everett (MA) class of 2019 wide receiver Mike Sainristil has had offers come in from Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Boston College, Indiana and North Carolina, with interest from several others.

Sainristil (5-9, 175) picked up an offer from UNC wide receivers coach Gunter Brewer a month ago, a moment he will never forget.

"He (Brewer) came to my game and I put on a good performance and earned the offer," he told THI. "It felt good knowing he took time to get to know me more and more every day."

Things are building between the receiver and Brewer.

"I think our relationship is close," he said. "I take in everything he says and it's been helping."

As the bond with the Tar Heels grows stronger, Sainristil will get to see how he could potentially fit in the Carolina offense. He can see himself in a role once handled quite productively by a former Tar Heel who now plays for the Dallas Cowboys.

"They just said I'm like Ryan Switzer and could fill in that spot," Sainristil said. "I also know they have a good school and program, and one of the top in the nation. They make me feel good about playing football there."

Right now he is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to UNC on January 27th.
